Recent studies have shown that GRAPHENE is effective against mosquitoes and ticks.


The effectiveness of GRAPHENE in repelling mosquitoes and mites is linked to its high strength, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity. Mosquitoes and ticks tend to avoid clothing or bed sheets treated with GRAPHENE due to its electrical properties. Furthermore, GRAPHENE-treated materials create an unsuitable environment for mosquito and tick breeding, leading to a reduced likelihood of their presence and consequently suppressing their reproduction.

The anti-mosquito and mite effect of GRAPHENE is shown in products manufactured by applying GRAPHENE in the production process such as clothing and bed sheets. These products are environmentally friendly and safe to use.

Therefore, the mosquito and tick prevention effect of GRAPHENE is one of the ways to prevent mosquitoes and ticks naturally and safely.

GRAPHENE-treated clothing offers effective protection against mosquitoes and ticks, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Furthermore, the inherent properties of GRAPHENE inhibit the growth and reproduction of odor-causing microorganisms, ensuring a comfortable and fresh fit. This enhanced clothing not only resists mosquitoes and mites, but also delivers improved cleanliness, and durability.

For five minutes, the researchers gave 100 mosquitoes access to a human arm. The insects did not bite when the arm was protected by dry graphene oxide (GO) film plus cheesecloth. With the cheesecloth only, there were plenty of itchy bites. /C. Castilho and R. Hurt/Brown Univ.

These results showed that wet rGO was the mechanical barrier. the mosquito lands on human skin but cannot penetrate it.  Dry GO, on the other hand, blocks some (smelly) chemicals that our skin emits with sweat.
